# About the Readiness Index and TEN7

## What it is

The Readiness Index scores a website out of 100 for how well AI assistants can find, read and quote it. Type an address and you get a score in under a minute. No account, no email, no card.

The score comes from 51 tests across 7 dimensions, and every test says what it looked for, what it found and what to change. Nothing here asks you to rewrite your content. It asks you to make the content you already have easy for a machine to read.

## How it scores

The scoring is published, and so is every weight. The [open standard](https://readinessindex.io/open-standard) is licensed CC BY-SA 4.0: read it, argue with it, build your own scanner from it. We ask for one thing back, which is credit and a link.

We score ourselves with the same rules, in public, at [Our Scan](https://readinessindex.io/our-scan). When we lose points, you can see which ones. We also scored a thousand organizations for the [Census](https://readinessindex.io/census), so you can see where your site sits among the rest.

The scanner can read one page for free or a whole site on a plan. Either way it identifies itself as [AIRBot](https://readinessindex.io/bot) and follows your robots.txt.

## Who we are

The Readiness Index is built and run by [TEN7](https://ten7.com), a Minneapolis agency. We design, build and care for Drupal websites for schools, nonprofits and other organizations doing work that matters, and we have since 2007. Our mission is to make things that matter.

We publish this the way we run the rest of the company: in the open, with the reasoning visible. If you think we got something wrong, tell us.
