| How we filtered it | The Identification, Financial data (line 4700 total revenue) and Charity Contact Web Addresses files of the 2024 edition. Every registered charity with positive revenue, ranked by it. Excluded as other cohorts' members: a charity whose name equals a row in ca-hospitals, ca-school-boards or the universities-and-colleges roster; one sharing a website host with such a row whose name says hospital, school or college; CRA hospital, school-board and university sub-categories where the name agrees; and names saying university, cégep, polytechnic, hospital, health authority, CISSS/CIUSSS or school board. None of this applies to foundations, auxiliaries, students' or alumni associations or research institutes. The top 1,000 that remain (611 excluded above list rank 1,611). Address: the first usable web address the charity gives CRA on its return (high), normalized to the site root. |

How much of each site we read
The cap is 32 URLs and it is a ceiling, not a promise. A portal whose every link points at a different host yields one page; a university yields the full sample. The median here is 32, the range 1–32, published so that "we sampled 32 URLs per site" cannot become a claim the data does not support.
